Experienced and Reliable

I started in the stone industry 2007 with a small, local granite company and learned the trade from one of the best. I continue using methods acquired during my 8 years there and have incorporated new and modern fabrication techniques within my own business.

FAQs

  • Do I need to seal my granite or marble?

Applying sealant on stone is primarily used to protect against staining. Typically, the darker the stone, the decreased risk of staining (e.g: red wine, grease, cooking oil, beets, lemon juice). Lighter stones with colors such as white and grey need a sealant to protect them. Sealant does not protect against scratches on any stone surface and is also not necessary on manmade products, such as quartz.

  • Are granite countertops heat resistant?

Granite is heat resistant, so resting hot pots and pans on the surface will not cause any damage. However, quartz cannot withstand high heat - this would cause the stone to burn or discolor.

  • What is best to clean stone countertops with?

Soap and water is sufficient. Chemical cleaners are not necessary unless specifically recommended for stone.

  • Oops - I stained the counter, now what?

Most stains can be removed from countertops. This is achieved by using a paste or poultice to draw the stain out.
